Terschelling Residency: Wayfaring

As guests of Oerol Festival: exploring the island and developing ideas for the Wayfaring installation to be presented in 2018. Discovering what resources are available …how we relate to the site we are invited to use, what are the restrictions and parameters.. are there other agendas that need to be satisfied…are we able to find wood which is scarce and a precious resource on the island, what are the tensions bound into this place, how will we work with the powerful wind and tides in this marginal place, what effects will the exposure to such a vast open space have on anything we build, and how can we relate the island’s shifting edges,the elemental tensions with the ever tightening boundaries and shifting populations we are hearing about globally daily.
