Installation Commission for Ridgeway Responses, Inside Out Dorset Festival.
The South Dorset Ridgeway is scattered with barrows: places of human burial. Barrow was a personal space for contemplating the cycles of life and death, outdoors. It offered an invitation to the living, to reflect on the people near and far who have come from, passed through and gone back into the landscape.
Created over 10 days by AndNow from local materials, all those that visited were invited to come back, to walk up the hill in the dark, and take part in the resolution of the installation, culminating in the burning of the personal messages left by the people who visited.
